This was suppose to be an assisgnment about painting an interior design. For the first few class periods I was joking around with ideas of lamps in the corner, inside a larger person's bed, and car interiors. Sadly, none of them pleased me. This started out as a sketch of an Atlas but he had nothing to hold above him. It took me a while to decide to actually incorperate this into my interior design, but I still needed something for the Atlas to hold. It wasn't til I actually started to seriously think, and ironically I thought of puting a brain and putting the Atlas into my mind.
With that being explaned, my interior design is my mind, and it is filled by a burdened Atlas holding up my brain. To try to further explain, the mind is the heaviest burden that you are to care for. You have to constantly keep living up to things that are hard to live up to. Everyone is their own Atlas. To represent that, the Atlas and brain are neutral colors to show that the position can be filled by anyone. This painting was made on a 18" by 24" sheet of canvas paper. The colors used were red, blue, black and white. |
